      Purpose
of this release is to present young artists from the ex-Yugoslavia region to the
global music lovers and dance floor shakers. One could say this sounds
yugo-nostalgic, but all of these artists were born in Yugoslavia. With their
music they present influences from the scene where they created and keep
innovating the art of dance. Boltzmann, coming from Slovenia, with the
floor killer "My places", gave respect to the new wave bands, to which
he was listening to while growing up, at the same time bringing in some serious
grooves with a very melodic synth lines. Borgie, coming from Bosnia and
Herzegovina, kicks in with acid electro techno track, tough as Sarajevos
eating, drinking and party habits. Then you have SevdahBavy, coming from Serbia,
who just teases the crowd with his classic disco cut. He could not resists to
throw in male vocal with an attitude, that creates a perfect balance with a
female voice which invites us to - Just have fun - this mixture of attitude and
celebration of life shows what Schmeker is all about.
Tosh Maracato, coming from Croatia, with his two tracks, explores neo
trance sounds bowling emotions, groove and spacey synths into the breaks,
which could drive dancers far away from reality, but that is why we like the
        dance floors.

      ABOUT
        ARTISTS

MILAN STANKOVI aka sevdahBABY
      The
artist also known as sevdahBABY, explores and pushes the limits by using the
elements of Balkan music tradition in the context of contemporary electronic
music styles. His music varies from broken beat and 2step experiments, to
straight 4 to the floor club grooves. He is not afraid of mixing those two
cultures, and he is not afraid of being accused of heresy from any kind of
audience: folk music lovers on one side, or representatives of urban DJ/clubbing
culture on the other side. He strongly believes that music is universal, that
Balkan sevdah is equal to American blues, or Brazilian tristessa.

    Tosh Marcato

Tosh Marcato has been showing interest for music since his childhood. At only eleven, he attended a music school where he learned how to play a violin and a piano. At the age of fifteen, he went to his first party, and instantly, an unbreakable bond and love to electronic music was born. Following this experience, he started to learn basic steps of electronic music production. He believed that making of dance music is an art as any other. Transferring his emotions to the music is the most enjoyable part of his creative work. In 2003, he acquired professional DJ equipment, and soon he started making his name known on the scene. After many performances in clubs and coffee bars in his town and region, with two of his friends (Sasha Fishter & Examine), he started the project IN/OUT. Their goals was to present electro and minimal music and educate people about the scene generally. Today you can hear him in electro and minimal-techno edition. He believes that a DJ always must make special connection and have a non-verbal communication with dancers, and have them dance until the morning.
Boris Boras a.k.a.Borgie
      Borgie

was born in Sarajevo following the shocking death of the Yugoslav leader Josip
Broz Tito in 1980. As a kid who grew up in the 80s, with the sounds of Soft
Cell, Inner City & Technotronic, it was natural to find himself in Detroit
sound in the early 90s, only to draw a great inspiration from the German minimal
techno scene which brutally enslaved him to living, creating & mixing
techno. At the dawn of the new millennium, he started promoting electronic music
with two of his friends, Mustafa Salcin & Samira Poricanin, on a local radio
station then called Sarajevo 202. The concept of this project, entitled Fresh
Beats, was to lift all Bosnian artists creating and playing electronic music to
a higher level, as well as to maximize their public representation. This project
also sponsored almost all parties, promotions and leaflets related to the scene.
During the time between 2000 and 2004, all of the most prominent DJs from Bosnia
played on this show, and the promoters provided the audience with the sounds
coming from some of the best DJ names in the world who either mixed or gave
interviews in Fresh Beats. Nowadays Borgie is mostly occupied with a webzine net
label Oscilator, releasing his production & mixed compilations. In addition
to his original alias, Borgie is known as Splendex, when presenting minimal
& electro, and also as Kran 709, for the sounds like Detroit & break
beat, along with his friend Zlijay. And finally, at the end of the beginning,
Borgie became a crucial part of Buka label management, along with many other
music lovers and his friend Ymo17, a founder of the association.

Boltzmann
      In
his youth, Boltzmann attended elementary music school, where he acquired classic
music education. While in secondary school he got in touch with electronic music
at a well known night club Ambasada Gavioli in Izola, Slovenia. At the break of
the millennium he realized what his future is going to be - playing and
producing electronic music. He started his career on two cd-players and a mixer
and began to play techno and electro music. Soon, he bought 3 turntables. In
2002 he organized his first electronic music event and later established, along
with ten other enthusiasts, an association for promotion and distribution of
electronic music, called SDJF. Together they have organized numerous successful
events and hosted many world wide known DJs. In 2004, he started producing
electronic music. As he adores synths, he appreciates artists who use them
frequently in their music; therefore DJ Umek, Huntemann, Anthony Rother and Da
Fresh have been major influences in Boltzmann's work, as well as the legendary
English group Depeche Mode. Mostly he produces electro, but along with Lukas
Stepani aka Comrade, he collaborates in various techno music projects. His
goal is to make his music notable to others, with a unique and genuine sound,
        bringing "electro-love" everywhere he plays.
